Draco had gotten up early that morning. Something he did not want to do but, he needed to walk the boarders of his land. With most of the original members missing or not showing up, he didn't have anyone else to do it for him. He disliked the constant walking and looking for things that were not even there. Most other lions stayed away from the boarder due to the pride's reputation but, there were always a few ones that needed reminding that this was not a free land to stay on and that he owned it.
The morning air was crisp and cold, it was something unusual on the continent of Nikkita. Usually the humidity was already up as well as the heat at this point in the morning but, Leeu must have blessed him with cooler weather. Draco wasn't an overly religious lion but, he believed that Leeu was up in the sky watching over himself and other lions of his kind though, he couldn't imagine Leeu watching over the Donecs. They had killed his father. They didn't deserve Leeu watching over them.
Draco was sure to spray his scent heavily over the boarders. He wanted there to be no excuse for trespassers. He wanted them to know that this belonged to Vectus and that there was no doubt about it.
As he marched along, he noticed little morning birds fluttering around before the sun had fully touched the sky. Not many things made him smile and little morning birds didn't either. He was neutral about them. Though, he did enjoy watching the sun rise. It was something that he got to do quite often. He usually came out at night or very early in the morning and then spent most of the day napping or lounging about. It seemed natural for him to be in the night. The day time was dandy but, much too hot for him to do anything. He was too large to be running around like a lioness. Maybe that's what happened to his pride. Maybe they all ran away. Cowards. He thought to himself. He had led them for several years now without his father and had several more good years left in him. If he ever found the lions that deserted him, there would be hell to pay. |

Delilah had been awake most of the night and all of the time till now,and she figured that she would be up for a while.It was something she was used to,be up all day and most of the day and hopefully find a safe place to catch at least a few minutes of sleep,with squeezing in time to hunt every so often.
She had been traveling for months,hoping not to be caught by another lion or worse the Donec pride.Lilah definitly didnt need another run in with them.She was still recovering from the last time.So far luck was on her side.
Finally feeling like her paws were going to give out,the dark colored lioness plopped under a short tree panting like she had just run a marathon.It had been at least a week since she had hunted so she was a little weak,more than a little actually but she tried not to show it.
Having scouted a little of the area earlier,she decided to rest for a little while.It was still early morning so not many creatures should have been out.Unknowingly she had crossed over onto the border of the Vectus Pride

Several minutes had passed and then he smelled it. It was another lion. Well, not really a lion. It was a lioness by the smell of it and she..had crossed his boarders?! she had better hope she was over a part he hadn't gotten to yet. He was rather irritated at the moment and it made him wonder if others like this one just waltzed into his territory and made themselves a home here without him knowing. He would have to find out. He picked up his pace to make his arrival at the female quicker.
When he arrived, he saw that she was laying down, under one of his trees. She was a darker female and easy on the eyes but, that didn't excuse her from what she had done. She was very lucky that this bit of boarder hadn't been scented often and it was dying. Otherwise, she would have been in loads more trouble. Hello. My name is Draco, alpha of the Vetus pride. What brings you to my pride land? She could have been there on some important mission or something but, he doubted it. His tone was a bit cold and reserved. He certainly didn't want to give any of himself away to her. If she was looking for a home, he would probably give it to her if she wasn't incredibly annoying or stupid. Draco was in need of more members since his current ones seemed to have run off on him which he was still livid about. His stance was a dominant, powerful one. He stood up straight and held his head high along with his tail.
He was a bit curious as to why she was here in the first place. She looked like she had either run here very quickly or she traveled a long distance. She could have just stumbled into the land unknowingly or, she could have come here on purpose. Though, he never really understood why any lion wanted to join his pride. Usually there were crazy psychotic lions living here. They were hard like rocks and fearsome like..lions. It took a special type, a special breed of lion to make it here in Vectus. He wondered if a family was what she wanted, if she would even survive. |

The tired lioness hadnt had her eyes closed for more than a few minutes before she was found.I knew it was too good to be trueshe thought as she smelled the scent of another lion approaching.Maybe he'll be nice and just tell me to leave and not attack me or anything.She doubted it but she could hope right?
Opening her eyes halfway,she looked up at the lion.He was a darker tan than most lions she had seen with a thick mane.You could definitly tell he was an alpha,but of what pride?She didnt see any other lions with him,so maybe he was alone.Lilah started to get back on her paws and back away like she was going to leave.
I'm sorry,I didnt mean to intrude or anything.I just wanted a place to rest for a few minutes.I'll leave if you want me to.She said looking down.She didnt really want to leave but would if he wanted her to. |

Draco noticed that the lioness was backing away from him like hew as going to attack her or something. That boosted his ego quite a bit. It had been a long time since he had put fear like this into another being. Of course, He didn't come across many others now days but, it was still a good feeling to know that he still had "it."
He wished that he had some lionesses here with him. He probably looked like a fool standing here claiming he owned a pride but, with no pride around. There wasn't even much of a scent here anymore. Oh well, she was obviously very wary of him. That must have counted for something, right? He thought it did. But, he didn't really want her to leave. He needed other lions here living with him. He couldn't hunt very well, especially by himself. He was too large to run after such speedy animals like the ones that he liked. But, he also didn't want to seem desperate to keep her here with him. He could see a tiny bit in her eyes that maybe suggested that she didn't want to leave either. That was a good sign, if what he was seeing was actually there. He was never very good at judging these things. You may stay if you'd like. You look like you've traveled a long way. He was being surprisingly, nice. maybe it was just his hunger or desperation for being around another. He knew that she had to stay here. He hoped that by his kindness to her that she would join his pride. He needed members badly but, he wouldn't admit it. He couldn't show her or anyone else any kind of weakness. |

Tilting her head,Delilah sat down a few feet away from where she was originally was.She didnt understand the lion,Draco or whatever his name was.Whenever she had come across another lion in a territory they usually tried to run her out.Now she was being welcomed to stay?It didnt make sense to her but nothing made much sense to her anymore.Neither did him having a pride if there wasnt any other lions around.
It was kinda strange to have a pride without others....Then it wouldnt be a pride.Ok I'll just stay for a little while and then I'll leave,she decided.There had to be some catch to him allowing her stay.She nodded smiling a bit.Thank you.It's been a while since Ive been able to stop.It probably looked really weird for her to be sitting there staring like that but she always done that when she was confused with something.As usual she started to space out as a million thoughts ran through her mind.One thought stuck out and she tensed ready to run if her thought was true.194 STATUS! complete TAGS!    The female in front of him, who was now sitting a few feet away, tilted her head as if she were confused by his actions. He had to admit that they were weird. If this were under normal circumstances, he would have run her out or worse but, he was in need of other lions living here. He couldn't protect if by himself though, he liked to think it sometimes.
The lioness thanked him, as she should. He was doing her a generous favor, even though it was partly for himself. Well, mostly for himself. The second part of her comment to him intrigued him. She couldn't stop? Is she running from someone or something? He felt like he had the right to know. If she was staying here in his pride lands, he needed to know what was going on with her. If she was merely making a long journey or if she was running away from something. What do you mean, you couldn't stop? His voice had minimal concern. He was being a bit reserved with her. She wasn't really his friend. And, she was sitting and staring at him kinda funny. It made him uncomfortable. But, he couldn't show that. He had to keep his composure. He wondered why she was staring at him. It was impolite that was for sure. Then, she stared off into space. Yup, another wacko. He wasn't sure if he had some sign on him that said "crazies and wackos come here" or something but, that was what it felt like. Every lion that had come here was nuts. It would have been nice to have a sane being around here but, that was obviously not going to happen.
He wondered if he himself were insane and just didn't know it. Maybe that was why all these crazies kept coming to him. It was very possible that he had already lost his mind and was aboard the crazy train already. But, how was he to know if he was nuts? He couldn't just ask someone, that would be weird. His brain was swirling and whirring with thoughts of himself being crazy. It would sure explain a lot.
He kept his attention on the female before him. If she was insane like he thought that she was, she would need watching.He couldn't let his guard down for a second. Not that he could do that anyway. It was either one thing or another. Stranger walking in or hyenas prancing around here, terrorizing him. He hated hyenas. They were dirty scavengers. He had only seen them actually hunt once or twice. He wished they would just leave or if he could actually start a war or something with them to get them to leave his pride land. He wondered if the Donecs had hyena problems like he did. He hoped that they did. If he had to suffer then so did they. He caught himself losing concentration and drifting off into la la land. He snapped back into concentration on the female.

Shrugging her shoulders,she moved closer to lay down under the tree.She wasnt stupid,she knew to keep her distance.Especially if it was a lion she didnt know .Definitly if said creature was bigger than she was.It was a basic rule,common sense really.Any creature should know that...
The sun had started to raise itself higher in the sky and Delilah just wished it would go away.Or blow up,she didnt care.Either was fine with her as long as it removed itself out of the sky and out of her vision.Rolling onto her back,she put a paw over her eyes trying to block it out."Please go away Mr.Sun"She started singing that song that made the rain go away in her head,replacing the parts about rain with the sun.'Sun,sun go away please never come back another day'she kept singing it and unconsiousally started to sing it outloud.She stopped and looked at him when he asked her something."Well,um I was running...from the Donec pride.A few weeks ago,me and my mum were caught and they killed her and almost me but I got away.So Ive been trying to put as much distance between them and me,and not get caught by any other lions."Her voice was quiet and could barely be heard.She rolled over onto her stomach and put her head on her paws.Her past wasnt something she really wanted to talk about,if anything she wanted to forget it.Hoping to change the subject she asked "If your an alpha then wheres your pride?"It was a logical question.What alpha lion didnt have a pride?. 255 STATUS! complete TAGS!Draco,the sun,rain rain go away song NOTES! The sun was raising itself higher into the sky, somehow making itself hotter as it went up. Draco's large mane was not helping the hotness situation. He watched as the female seemingly made herself more comfortable by laying on her back. Leaving her belly area open like that was risky, especially because she didn't know him. He could have sliced her belly open right then and there and eaten her but, he was feeling nice today and decided that she would live.
He wanted to sit down or something, he had been walking all morning. But, he didn't want whoever this was to think that they were even close to being equal. He was obviously above her and he was going to make that clear.
He did, however; pay attention to her when he heard the word Donec. What are they doing? Starting fights with random lions? What are they becoming? Has their leader finally lost his mind? Draco had no idea why such a peaceful pride would randomly fight lionesses other than the ones who belonged to him, or the ones that used to belong to him. Why would the Donec's attack you and your mother? He wanted to know what happened and fast. He did not want them coming here. If she was staying here in his lands, he needed to make sure that he and his lands were safe. It would do her good to answer him truthfully and quickly. He didn't care if she didn't want to talk about it. It was his business to know.
The female tried to change the subject matter but, Draco wasn't having any of that. My pride is none of your business. He snapped at her. Frankly, he didn't care. He wanted answers and answers now and then maybe, he would possibly answer hers. But, not right now. No. Right now was not time for Draco to be answering things. Especially because she had no place to be asking questions.
